You hear about this all the time. Moving from negative thoughts to positive thoughts. Changing your mindset. But how many times have you done anything to improve your day-to-day circumstances?
Have you simply embraced your situation and felt— it is what it is?
Have you decided it’s way too hard to change your mindset?
Have you thought, at this point you’re too old to change?
With any change in your life, it takes work. It takes dedication. It takes determination. You have to get to that point where you are no longer happy with your existing norm. You want and need the change because you’ve hit rock bottom. (It may even be a private rock bottom, not something others easily recognize about you. But it is no less real, and you feel the loss of energy within yourself.)
But why do you think we don’t improve our situation sooner— when we first see the signs?
It could be the signs were there, but you ignored them hoping they would go away, or things would simply get better.
It could be that change is harder and scarier than to stay in your current unhappy situation.
However, each of these are because you aren’t ready to change. You haven’t gotten to that place where you are so fed up you crave change. It’s become truly important to you. Change takes time, it takes work, and it takes guts to admit you need to change. So, if this is you, how do you transcend from the negativity in your life into a more positive outlook?
You need to want to change.
You start small by writing down everything in your life you don’t like. Now write down what your life would look like if there were no limitations. Then you take one step at a time each day.
Start changing your mindset. Every time you have a negative thought counteract it with the opposite. For example, you want that perfect job but find yourself saying you don’t have the skill set to get it. Instead, state that whatever it takes you will work to get those skill sets and get that perfect job.
Take time out to quiet your mind, imagine the light of positivity taking over your whole body and mind where you release all negative thoughts and feelings. This is where Energy Medicine can offer natural techniques you can learn to use for balance and renewal.
