Did you know the number one thing stopping us from accomplishing what we want is lack of sleep?

It has been found that if we don’t get the allotted sleep needed each night it can directly affect our thought patterns, mood, energy levels, and health. According to research 50 – 70 million people in the US don’t get the amount of sleep needed each night and this was found to have increased since 2019. It stands to reason why many people can’t get to sleep:

  • Stress

  • Money

  • Family

  • Job

It stands to reason why many of us don’t sleep well based on habits formed that may not be in our best interest, work late into the night, doing less exercise, late-night snacking, or there are some of us battling sleep apnea. However, the way you look at it, the lack of sleep can affect not only your health but being able to accomplish the things you want out of life. After all, when we don’t sleep well what’s the one thing that it tends to affect? Our concentration and mind thoughts. We start to have a hard time staying on task or getting simple things accomplished because all our body wants to do is sleep.

Knowing this is not only key, but how to counteract this and get the much need sleep you need can be the true challenge. By integrating some of these healthy habits within your day you can work to gain more sleep each night.

  1. Refraining from having that cup of coffee any later than noon.

  2. Keep yourself on a bedtime schedule by going to bed at the same time each night.

  3. Spending an hour before bed doing relaxing on-electronic activities such as reading a book, meditation, or taking a bath.

  4. If possible, avoid heavy meals a few hours before bedtime.

  5. Exercise regularly, but not before you go to bed.

  6. Reduce your alcohol intake.

  7. Learn breathing techniques that support you to balance your energy.

By implementing some of the above habits you can look forward to better sleep down the road, better concentration, and get more accomplishments to get that much closer to your business/life goals.
