Do you find when you call your friends to hang out, they are always busy, or it goes directly to voice mail? Do you find that when you talk people stop listening?

It may be time to reassess your life and look at how you can change things for the better. Many times, you don’t even see the signs. You may do it unconsciously, even a deep wound to your energy that you cannot see. You simply blame it on everyone else.

But there comes a time when you have to realize that it could be your attitude or mindset that could be causing your…

  • unhappiness,

  • constantly feeling unwelcome,

  • never seeing the good in people or the world.

Granted, you can certainly continue down the path of destruction and doom, but why would you if all you had to do was make a few shifts in your mindset for a happier life? I realize that change can be hard for some, but if you make a few small changes each day in your mindset and routine it can make the world of difference in your life. Here are a few ways to get started.

  • Start by writing out what you want out of life. Regardless of how big or small, write it down.

  • Pay attention to how you respond when someone gives you good news. Do you congratulate them, or do you have a negative response? Remember the Golden Rule and do unto others as you want them to do unto you.

  • Catch yourself before you say something negative by thinking about it before you say it. Think about it in these terms, if they said the same thing to you how would that make you feel? Would hearing what you are about to say deplete you and others of energy and vitality? Your words have power, so be conscious of how you use them.

  • Look in the mirror each morning and make this promise to yourself out loud: “I promise to only have positive thoughts and react in positive ways for positive results.”

  • Take time each night to take 3 deep breaths and completely clear your mind of all negative thoughts.

When you practice these changes over and over, you will begin to feel differently, and you will notice a change in your friends as well. You may find them saying, “What— no nasty remark or negative talk?” You can simply say, “No more. I’m working to be a more positive person.” They may even start to do as you are doing.

Change is good for everyone, especially when you find your life is not what you want or when you find yourself in constant conflict. It can be done; all you have to do is be willing and open to change.
