Are you tired of the adage “when life throws you lemons, make lemonade?”

You hear people say this all the time, but do you really believe it, or do you find it simply causes you more anxiety and stress? Let’s face it, some people handle stress much better than others, but how can you release the stress when you find that you are one of the select few who no matter what you do the stress only seems to find you?

  • People tell you to read uplifting books, only you can’t get through it because you have so much on your mind.

  • They tell you to smile because it helps your mood, yet you can barely breathe let alone smile.

  • Do more yoga, it will help you to relax and let go, yet you can’t even do half the poses and walk away feeling dejected.

  • People tell you to “just relax” like it’s a switch you can quickly flip on demand no matter what’s pulling on your energy.

When you are depressed, blue, down, and dealing with a ton of emotional pain it can be difficult to get yourself out of the vicious cycle of negativity. In fact, you find the more you try to think positive thoughts more negative thoughts creep in.

So, how in the heck do you turn this all around? What can you do to feel better and finally get out of the negative spiral?

I could tell you to:

  • Meditate

  • Do visualization of how you want your life to be

  • Do breathing exercises

  • Exercise more to release endorphins that help boost your mood

  • Practice Energy Medicine

There are a lot of things you can do to uplift your mood, but the one important thing that people tend to forget is do you have the will. Are you willing to change and do what you have to in order to get results? There’s an old saying, “It’s easy to do the wrong thing, it’s even harder to do the right thing.” I’m not trying to simply push away possible signals of depression, which may need medical attention, but there are many things you can do right now to help lighten your mood.

  • Meet yourself where you are and be real with your feelings.

  • Take a Mental Health break.

  • Ask for help.

  • Wallow if you need to but do it constructively. In other words, don’t let it consume you.

  • Know that today will be quite different than tomorrow.

  • Break down your feelings into parts instead of trying to deal with the whole thing.

  • Do the exact opposite of what your depressed voice tells you to do.

  • Reward your efforts when you pull yourself out of the muck.

  • Do something you really enjoy.

  • Volunteer for your local soup kitchen or Boys and Girls Club, whatever sings to you.

  • Learn more about how to recognize when your energy is off, and it is time for a rebalancing of your energy.

If you need some extra guidance, you may want to look into Energy Medicine. This is a proven technique to help you alleviate much of your mood swings, negative thoughts, and release the tension in your mind and body. Want more info on this? Contact me at ChironEnergyMedicine.com
