Many of us are going through some trying times. Many of you may be going back to work and many may not, which brings on many complicated emotions:
Fear
Unrest
Stress
Which believe it or not, can also affect our pets. Not only emotionally but physically. As our emotions begin to surface our pets can feel our angst and fears as well.
They know when we are happy, sad, and stressed. But even though we may be going through a long laundry list of emotions, our pets can also be our saviors.
During some of the worst of times, it has been proven that pets can be beneficial for our emotional health. That’s why many times you see service pets in hospitals or veteran homes to help raise their spirits. By allowing your pets to be your emotional support you help take down your stress levels for a healthier life, for you both. When you find yourself feeling stressed, worn out, sad or depressed, try getting emotional relief with your beloved pets.
Statistics have proven over and over how beneficial it is for the mind and soul to have pets around. Simply by:
Snuggling with them.
Petting them while you take in deep breaths.
Laugh when they do crazy things.
Run through the house with them to help lift your spirit.
I realize life can be challenging, but as the old saying goes, “When life gives you lemons you make lemonade.” Your pets can be your lemonade in life.
Here’s to your health,
Carolyn Osborn
