Life Tips to Help You Stay Present and Grounded During Uncertain Times

It’s no secret that we are all dealing with uncertain times, which can cause uneasy feelings of overwhelm and disconnectedness. Staying present and grounded can help you navigate these challenges with greater ease and resilience. But what exactly is grounding? Let’s go over some of these life tips that can help you flourish even during uncertain times.

  1. Practice deep breathing by calming your mind and inhaling slowly through your nose for a count of four, holding for a moment, and then exhaling gently through your mouth for a count of six. Repeat this several times until you feel more at ease. Notice the shift in your energy this supports.

  2. Writing down how you feel can help you get it out of your mind and on paper. You then want to shift your focus on being grateful for what and who you have in your life. This simple practice can improve your overall mood and help you stay grounded.

  3. Going on walks and being out in nature can help ground you with nature. You can even take some time to take your shoes and socks off and feel the grass between your toes. 

  4. Spend less time watching TV and on social media, instead listen to music or read an inspiration or motivation book.

  5. Maintaining your social connections with friends can provide emotional support and help you feel more grounded. Reach out to friends and family regularly, whether through phone calls, video chats, or in-person visits. Being quietly mindful of the similarities and contrast in their energy and yours can help you blanch your own energy with natural ease.

  6. Mindfulness and meditation can help you stay present and reduce anxiety. Use guided meditation apps or practice simple mindfulness exercises, such as focusing on your breath or observing your surroundings without judgment.
