When you sit down this holiday for a feast of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and pie do you go around the table and ask everyone what they are grateful for? Or do you simply enjoy the meal and give thanks? Whatever tradition you and your family partake in, this time of year should be revered as we all realize how much we truly have.
This means you put aside the petty arguments you’ve had in the past, the old loves that faltered, or the family drama and truly appreciate your surroundings.
Be grateful for the food you have before you.
Be grateful you are spending time with people who love you.
Be grateful for the opportunities that came your way this past year.
Be grateful that the United States pays fewer taxes than the majority of all the other countries out there.
Be grateful if you have money in the bank, you have more than most in other countries.
Be grateful that as a US citizen you have more rights than in many other countries.
Whether you are feeling good about your situation or bad, or whichever way you see it, if you live in the United States, you already have more than most across the globe. No matter how you look at it, we all have much to be grateful for, eve as we all seek to understand what the “New Normal” may bring our way. It’s just a matter of whether you see it or not.
I realize that this past year was anything but perfect, but it taught us so much as a nation, and about each other. The more we are grateful for what we currently have, the more we become appreciative of our lives. It’s not about the things we have, but the people in our lives and the experiences we’ve had.
When we become appreciative of what we have it truly helps to heal us all as a nation because when we are happy and grateful is when we see all the good in the world.
When we see this good, we see even more, causing a positive domino effect. Think about the one person you love being around. They love life, they are happy with themselves and see everything in the world as an opportunity for all, not just a select few. They have a different mindset. Think of how the world would be if we all had this can-do attitude and confidence in ourselves. What a wonderful world that would be. But it already exists: all we must do is be grateful for what we currently have. If you would like some assistance to attain more gratitude, contact me for some healing energy medicine.
The world is ours to cherish. All we must do is believe, and once we do this, we heal ourselves and the world one step at a time.
I’m grateful to you.
