During 2020 many of us had time, a lot of time. Especially since many of the country has been sequestered in their homes. Granted there were many still working hard to keep things going for the rest of us, nurses, doctors, janitors, truckers, farmers, home care workers, public transportation, grocery workers, delivery services….and more. These folks worked day in and day out while most of us were home trying to figure out daycare for kids, new work schedules, and necessary needs to get us through the first round.
As time extended further into the year, businesses and schools worked to figure out how to keep America moving forward. But through it all the one thing many of us had was TIME.
Time to think about our next moves.
Time to figure out new working models.
Time to figure out how to juggle everything.
Time to decide what our next moves would be.
Whatever this was for you, we had been given the gift of time. But did many of us take advantage of this time or did we sit back and fall into the trap of staying up late, eating more, and exercising less. In some cases, people fell into a deep depression.
Let’s face it, 2020 has been a very challenging year, to say the least. But we can continue to ping 2020 for all its faults or we can pick ourselves up and figure out what to change so that we can move forward. Many have taken advantage of this time and have:
Taken up new hobbies.
Started a new business to make money.
Shared their feelings online and connected with other like-minded individuals.
Built a home office in the backyard.
Landscaped their yard one section at a time.
Spent more time outside than in, for those who had backyards to do so.
Starting walking in their neighborhood every morning while social distancing.
In other words, we all were given an opportunity to make changes, really big changes, which some of us did and some of us simply sat back waiting for this all to blow over.
Any way you see it, we were given the one thing that we always complained about, time. We simply didn’t expect to get so much of it.
We also found new ways of working, educating our children, and working with the stay-at-home orders.
If you were the ones who utilized this time to make a difference in your life, I commend you. Not many people were able to do this. Many fell into funks and had a hard time getting out of bed let alone figuring out how to change things.
You still have time to relish in our new time paradigm, all you have to do is figure out what you want to change.
What can you change today to make your life easier?
How can you manage your time for better results and be even more productive?
What have you always wanted to do, but didn’t have the time?
Granted, 2021 is brand new.
We still have plenty of time to implement things today that can help us thrive and grow, and to activate our energy so it serves our life.
Work to let go of the limiting beliefs of 2020 and see the possibilities of the time you have been given, activate your energy, and enjoy life as it unfolds.
We all have the power to do this, it’s just a matter of how badly we want to believe.
Here’s to your health and an exciting New Year!
