Change can be painful or exciting dependent upon how you look at any given situation. For many, changes seem to be more painful than exciting, especially when your normal routine has been thrown out the window.
But with change, comes:
New Beginnings
New Challenges
New Memories
New Opportunities
New Love
New Friends
New Home
As human beings, we tend to be creatures of habit and once these habits are broken or our routine is changed it can be very uncomfortable. However, when we allow routines and habits to dictate our lives, we tend to miss some of the subtle changes happening around us.
Let me explain; due to our daily lives being the same each day, we miss when something in our day changes and now becomes a part of our daily routine. It can be something as simple as:
A favorite cup being broken, forcing us to find a new favorite cup.
The new stoplight at the end of a street you drive on daily, causing a change in traffic.
A new procedure at work, that now takes some time to learn.
New walking shoes, changing your daily walking stride.
These are small changes but with each small change your daily routine changes. It’s when we have life-changing events that give us pause or cause us to have fear. These are the changes that can become very uncomfortable and fearful. But change is good as it allows us to see things from a different perspective.
Much like this past year. We have all been forced into changes that many of us are still working to accept.
But when we are forced to make changes it allows us to view our lives differently, good, bad or indifferent, is completely up to us.
I cherish and welcome change as it allows us to grow. When we stay in our routines, we miss the possibilities awaiting us, because we can’t see past the habits we’ve put in place. Only when we are forced to change do we start to grow and see the opportunities that lie in front of us.
New job opportunities.
Moving to a whole new state.
Starting a new career.
Becoming more creative.
We have all been forced to think outside the box, allowing us to see a perspective of life we would have never seen before. Have many lost jobs, income, family, and homes because of these changes? Absolutely, but these changes are forcing us to grow in leaps and bounds. Believe it or not, because of our current life challenges, there can be more growth:
Entrepreneurial opportunities as new ideas come forth.
New ways of working allowing many of us to spend more time with loved ones.
A new appreciation of life.
More creativity as we work through our challenges.
Change is not bad— it’s simply a way to grow into bigger and better things on the horizon. All we have to do is believe in ourselves and see the opportunities and new expressions of energy in front of us.
Here’s to your health.
