They may find that they are losing their creative edge, especially now.
When you have to come up with a witty commentary, paint a picture, or simply work on creative endeavor for a client, how do you get back your creative edge when all around you is negative energy? This has been an ongoing issue for many who rely on their creative juices only to find they are staring at a blank computer screen, blank canvas, or quiet instrument as they grapple with the fact that they just can’t seem to get started.
When you are in a creative industry, how do you get the left (or right) side of your brain working again? Sometimes we need to take a few steps back in order to move forward.
But you can get back that creative magic by following some of these key Energy Medicine techniques:
Peruse the internet to get some ideas flowing. Sometimes this can help trigger a thought or an idea to get you started.
Relax your mind with music. By listening to soothing music and closing your eyes for a moment you allow your mind to start wandering down the path of creativity.
Stay away from the TV. Give your mind a break from all the clutter that TV can cause allowing you to break free of the creative blocks.
Read an inspirational or self-help book. When you find your mind is filled with junk, you may need some help to steer it in a more positive direction.
Write down words. Start writing all the words that come to your mind. No matter if they make sense or not, simply write them down. Many times, this exercise will empty out your brain and allow you to see some ideas form by just one word.
Doodle. Start drawing circles or bubbles or trees. Let your mind wander as you draw to just draw. This will allow you to see images form that may spark that creative fire.
Meditate. This can be getting out into nature, do a visualization, or connect with our higher self. Self-care is also important.
Not many people are aware of how hard it can be to be creative for 8 to 10 hours a day, especially if your job and livelihood depends on it. But going through some or all the exercises above can certainly help get the creative flow moving so that you can do your job.
Here’s to your creativity,
