There are many people and children who have been diagnosed with ADHD, but many know quite a bit while others know very little about ADHD.

If you’ve never heard of the term; ADHD simply stated means Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. What many aren’t aware of is that this is a broad-spectrum umbrella of many other diagnosis such as:

  • ADD – Attention Deficit Disorder

  • Oppositional Disorder

  • Manic Depression

  • Autism

  • Bipolar Disorder

  • Tourette’s syndrome

Even though each of these are treated in an array of different ways, the umbrella encompasses a faucet of many issues. Some individuals may have one, two or three of the above. Why these are all under one umbrella is that all of the above have been found to be in place due to a chemical imbalance in the system or brain.

Many of these can be maintained or managed by medicine or change in behavior, but what if you have ADHD and having a hard time focusing with the work from home model.

How do you manage when you have people relying on you to get tasks or projects completed?

  • Sticking to a routine can really help you stay on task.

  • 10 and 10 – Work on 10 items or whatever you can accomplish in 10 minutes.

  • If you don’t have to work certain hours, work during the hours where you find you have the best concentration and focus.

  • Tackle the most difficult tasks during your best hours of focus.

  • Set timers to help you move onto other projects.

  • Listening to music with headphones can help you stay more focused with less distractions.

  • Designate a certain spot in your home to work with as few distractions as possible.

  • A planner may help, by noting all your projects and what’s needed to complete each one. (This does not mean aiming for high pressure deadlines. It’s about having a central place to review and see what you are committed to, then updating or making changes to support your energetic balance.)

  • Use energy medicine; seek guidance to learn how to make calming breaths part of your daily practice.

By working to stay on task and focused you can get more done in just one hour that many have a hard time getting done in 8 hours.

Here’s to your productivity.
