With today’s Zoom calls, working from home, or homeschooling, how do you get heard?
For adults: There are thousands of people who are not used to isolation or working from home. Many of these people enjoyed the face-to-face interactions with their colleagues.
For kids: Many of our children love playing with their classmates but now are forced to talk with their teachers via a computer screen. Granted, many schools are starting to open bit by bit, but do you or your children feel they are getting heard?
It’s easy to fall into the background, especially for many who are introverts.
Are their voices heard on these calls or lessons?
If their sound isn’t working, do they simply get passed over?
If they lack the proper equipment, does this make them less valuable?
During this whole year, it has been a challenge for many to be heard or even paid attention to. So, how do you— and your kids— get heard amongst a platform that is crowded with faces on 1 X 1-inch screens?
Granted there are tips on virtual backgrounds, better mics, being prepared, and how to use the mute button, but the fact remains the same, how to get heard in a crowded space?
Here are a couple of ways to get heard for both you and your kids:
Come prepared with your questions and points you want to make, and when they ask who would like to go first, that’s your cue to speak up.
Use the Chat feature if it is enabled. (Ourside of the session, ask someone to show you how this feature works if you are not sure.)
If you didn’t get your question answered in the discussion or the chat, send an email to the group to facilitate an answer
This one can work great in sessions for kids… write your question in bold color on a piece of paper and hold it up for the rest of the group to see.
As a parent, watch and listen to some of the lessons your kids are attending. If you find the teacher keeps passing your child up, help them get their voice heard.
It can be a big blow to your psyche when it’s a struggle to feel accepted. We all deserve to be heard.
If you find that you are struggling with this, get in contact with me to see how we can utilize Energy Medicine to get you on a path of strength and confidence.
Here’s to your health.
